Made this today. It’s supposed to be a joke on how prohibitively expensive car ownership in Singapore can be.

Soo I recently moved to Singapore and I was checking on what Oppo has on Singapore. And this is the fist post that came up....thanks for reminding me I can’t buy a car here lol
We should hang out sometime :)

Hahaha! Where did you move from?
Weren’t you the guy who wanted to sell his IS? How'd that go?

I moved from Houston :)
Yes, I was trying to sell my IS. I got into an accident right before I was going to sell it...2 weeks before my flight :( I had a buyer lined up and everything. So then, I had to get some things fixed and my mechanic finally ended up buying it. I lost a bunch of money and got really stressed out. But I managed to sell it before I left...

How unfortunate...
How’s Singapore? Besides hot, of course. You enjoying the public transit system? :p

Yeah....but its ok. Shit happens. So far, I like Singapore :)
I only need to get used to how expensive it is and all the walking. I’m so used to driving everywhere :(
Are you doing anything tonight?

Why’d you move there?
Also, no, but why do you ask?

I had to. Immigration in the US didn’t work out and I got a job here with a possibility to go back to the US.
I went out to get a few drinks. I thought if you were going out too, we could meet up or something...

Hahaha, I live in New York... My Singapore posts must’ve confused you! I have relatives who live in Malaysia, and therefore I’ve been to Singapore “on holiday” :)

Haha yes, I thought you lived in Singapore :D

Do you plan to purchase a car there? Or is it too prohibitively expensive?

I don’t plan on buying a car here. The license to buy a car (called COE) is like SG$70,000. So even a shitty corolla would cost me SG$100,000. And the COE expires every 10 years. If you want to keep your car from being crushed, you have to pay up again. Or sell it.

Yep. My parents have a friend who spent almost $80,000 SGD for a COE for a used 5-Series, but it expired last year. They upgraded to a Benz... who wonders how much that would cost.

Wow...you should make introductions lol :D I hope it’s an AMG!

Nah... she didn’t tell us which model, so we’re presuming base C-Class.
Yo, have you had some of the food? It's basically Malay cuisine, it's good.

I have had some food :) I’ve had chinese, thai, “mexican” and fast food so far. But i’ve only been here a few days. I’m sure I’ll have plenty :)

Nice.
I have a place to recommend you: Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice. It’s been a favorite of world-famous chefs—sadly this causes it to attract a few tourists. Still, the Hainanese Chicken Rice there is some of the best I’ve had in a while.
Oh, and lines are long.

Thanks man! I’ll check it out. Do you know what part of town its in?

It’s in the Maxwell Food Centre, that’s all that comes to mind.
You could search it up on Google, see if that helps.
